Our History
A Mission of Compassion
Al-Asr Welfare Hospital was founded with a single purpose — to provide healthcare to the community of Syedanwali Mashriqi, where men, women, and children once had to travel miles for basic medical relief. For over 25 years, that mission has never changed.
The Need & The Vision
Located just 6 kilometres from the city of Iqbal (Sialkot), Syedanwali Mashriqi severely lacked medical facilities for years. Moved by the community's plight, Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah Sahib generously donated a plot of land to relieve the suffering of humanity — and from that act of compassion, Al-Asr Hospital was born.
How It All Began
Laying the Foundation
On 4 June 2000, the beloved and respected Haji Allah Rakha Sahib (حاجی اللہ رکھا) laid the foundation stone of Al-Asr Hospital. The initial 2,400 sq. ft. facility was completed in less than 10 months — built purely on dedication and community spirit.
Official Inauguration
On 18 March 2001, the hospital was inaugurated by Janab Muhammad Anwar Butt Sahib, Managing Director of Spot Light Trading Company. He covered the initial expenses and pledged a generous monthly donation to sustain operations.
Serving from Day One
On 29 April 2001, the hospital held its first free medical camp — 249 patients examined and given free medicines. From day one, consultations and the best medicines were offered at a nominal fee of just Rs 5.

Accessible Care
Consultations by senior M.B.B.S doctors and subsidised medicines — because no one should be turned away for inability to pay.
General Physician & Eye Care
Daily general physician consultations and affordable eye exams from Rs 100–300, serving patients of all ages.
On-Site Pharmacy
Subsidised medicines dispensed on-site so patients never have to travel elsewhere after their consultation.
Community Programmes
Free medical camps, the Al-Asr Islamic Center, and Darul Quran Fatmiya Jamaran academy on the hospital's upper floor.
